Fishery Basic Rules:
All anglers must be in possession of a current EA rod licence
Every angler is required to check in at the Lodge on arrival and before leaving.
All catches must be recorded (including nil returns) at the Lodge before leaving.
All Brown Trout must be returned to the water unharmed.
Tackle: Fly rods, fly reels, fly lines with casts etc. Droppers may be used.
Only one rod at a time to be used – others may be set up.
All rods in use to be hand held, and must not be left unattended.
Barbless hooks or de-barbed hooks only. Hooks to be no larger than size 8.
Minimum line breaking strain, 6lbs.
Landing nets are compulsory and must be used at all times. (Knotted mesh is illegal).
Returned fish to be held in net at water’s edge, and handled with wet hands
whilst the hook is removed.
Deeply hooked or damaged fish must be despatched.
First four fish to be taken (sporting thereafter). Fish that are taken must be humanely despatched.
No: Keep Nets, Lead Shot, Wading or Static Lure fishing. No catching of fish for other anglers.
Double or treble hooks are banned. Banned methods: Fly spoons with swivels, Boobies
Thompson Gazelles, Paddle Tails or Wagglers, Hedgehog or Pellet flies,
Silicone and Synthetic Worm Patterns. IF IN DOUBT – PLEASE ASK.
Permits are not transferable.
Please do not discard hooks and lines around the Lake, but use the litter bins provided.
Please do not feed the water fowl with bread etc.
If tamed they become a hazard to anglers and could get hooked. All the wildlife at the fishery
is appreciated and not to be harmed.
No radios, Walkmans or guns allowed on the fishery.
Anglers may be accompanied by their wives/husbands and children but
we do stress children should be under superivison at all times (for their own safety)
and must not annoy other anglers.
Dogs must be kept with their owner at all times and not left in the lodge.
Aggressive or unruly dogs will not be tolerated. Please clean up after your dog!
