General Information:
The loch varies in depth from 5 to 12 feet and is fed by water from Glen Burn. Two silt ponds ensure that the water is very clear, albeit slightly peaty in colour. Against the backdrop of mature conifers and deciduous trees, numerous own grown wild flowers are being introduced, together with a variety of shrubs. While you ‘rest a while’ at Artloch Fishery you may glance the visiting osprey, or even an otter, and, reflecting upon the local wildlife, leave your stresses and worries behind; at least for the time being.
A car park is situated adjacent to the loch and fishing hut. The pine-clad hut contains a toilet, a microwave, seating and tables and tea and coffee is provided. All amenities are designed so less able anglers can enjoy the facilities and angling and this includes the use of an electric scooter; please telephone in advance to book.
Holiday Accomodation:
Directions:
Artloch Fishery is just off the A920 Huntly - Dufftown - Huntly road and is almost equidistant between Aberdeen and Elgin.
From Huntly: Drive past the water station and down the hill towards the river Deveron. Just before the bridge turn left – signposted Edinglassie.
From Dufftown: Over the Corsemaul, past Edinglassie village and once past the signpost for the Falconry Centre (to your left) drive over the river Deveron and immediately turn right – signposted Edinglassie.
Once on the Edinglassie road, Artloch Fishery is ½ mile on the right, but drive carefully because this is a metalled road with passing places.
